Graphic India Releases Webisodes of Grant Morrison’s ’18 Days’
The first two webisodes of Graphic India and Grant Morrison’s 18 Days are now out on YouTube in celebration of ‘Geek Week’.
YouTube celebrates ‘Geek Week’ between the fourth and the eleventh of this month. To honour the occasion, comic book publisher Graphic India have launched the first two webisodes of their series 18 Days, which is a re-imagining of the popular mythological epic Mahabharata, by Scottish comic book legend Grant Morrison. 18 Days has been out since 2010, but it was always intended to become an animated series as well. Having made the announcement at Comic Con, Graphic India has released two webisodes entitled ‘The Tale Of Four Ages’ and ‘Krishna Speaks’ on the Graphic India YouTube Channel and they promise that a new webisode will be released every week through the year. Grant Morrison had this to say about 18 Days
A genre mash of superhero action and mythology grounded in the all too human passions of its warriors, villains and monsters, 18 Days will rewrite the rules of epic fantasy. I’m very excited to be working with Graphic India and YouTube for the launch of my first ever web series. 18 Days updates and retells the timeless stories of the Mahabharata for a new audience on a whole new platform.
Morrison is no stranger to Indian mythology, as his earlier work references the subject quite a lot. Check out a video from the recently concluded San Diego Comic Con where Grant Morrison, Sharad Devarajan and Gotham Chopra (both of Graphic India) talk about 18 Days.
