Shweta Taneja and Jason Quinn Talk Indian Comics at London’s Cartoon Museum
Shweta Taneja will be talking to Jason Quinn on the new wave in Indian comics and graphic novels, the industry, the readership surrounding it and her experience at the heart of it all, at London’s Cartoon Museum on Friday 27th May 2016.
Shweta Taneja is an Indian author, graphic novelist, and journalist. She’s written seven books and two hundred articles in a career spanning fourteen years. Her bestselling graphic novel, Krishna, Defender of Dharma, a 200+ page saga following the most popular superhero in Indian Mythology, has been reprinted many times since its launched. The Skull Rosary, a collaborative project created by five different artists, was nominated for Best Writer and Best Cover in ComicCon India when it was launched. She’s a Charles Wallace India Fellow (Chichester University, UK, 2016) and was shortlisted for Best Writer Award in ComicCon India for The Skull Rosary (HolyCow, 2013).
Jason Quinn is the award winning author of Gandhi: My Life is My Message and Steve Jobs: Genius by Design, which won the Best Writer and Best Graphic Novel Awards at Comic Con India in 2012 and 2013. He is the editor and writer on Panini’s Doctor Who Adventures Magazine and spent two years in Delhi as Creative Content Head at Campfire Graphic Novels, overseeing many comic book projects including the Kaurava Empire, World War One: The War to End All Wars and World War Two: Against the Rising Sun. His next book will be about The Beatles, to be published by Campfire.
He has worked in comic book publishing for over twenty years and has worked on such titles as Spider-Man, Ben 10, Doctor Who and many more.
